Location Changes!

We have changed the location from the shop shutter to college location because our actors are not willing to travel far to film and they will not be available in the weekends. We will be using the green tin cargo background and the orange and yellow brick wall. Due to our new actors clashes with timetable and reliability college location seems to be the best solution as our deadline for filming is soon.

Actors Complications

We planned to create a call sheet for this week but one of our actors had a production to rehearse for and he was not available when we needed him. I had to contact another male who would be willing to do it, Osagie is reliable and is willing to lip sync but not dance or act, I persuaded him to do it even though he Afrobeat is not his cup of tea. I printed out a lyric sheet for him and sent him the song via whatsapp.

Editing Day 1

  • Only 30 seconds needed for Prince Regent.
  • Editing notes used from the music promo practical task was useful.
  • No lip sync, just the song and dancers.
  • We had to use the best footage from Prince Regent station which made it easier to edit.
  • We could improve the 30 minutes by moving each footage of where the choreography suits the part of the lyrics where it says 'Drop'  it will be quite cool if it was in sync with the song.

On the left hand are the remaining footages that we have from prince regent when it we filmed in the alley next to Prince Regent to have a practice run of the dancers choreography.

We cut from the short panning  to the next choreography on  the concrete floor.

DROP! We have a pan here with a fast transitioning from to the next location which is Marsh Lane.

Prince Regent Call Sheet 2

Day 2 of filming, we have permission for filming  in this location but we are not allowed to use a tripod next to the stairs where the public will be passing. When we are using handheld we can turn on the stabilizer to make our panning less unstable and shaky.

Filming - Day 2

TV Studio

It is lunch time!

We are about to film with Michael, he does not know the chorus well, He kindly asked me to print out another lyric sheet to familiarise himself with the lyrics on paper. I am back in the Studio and the team tuned into the Vibe squad in the Sound room. The music is blasting out. Michael is comfortable and looking confident about his role. I am not sure where Shaun is? Well I asked the team, they contacted him so he should be here, he is probably in a lesson.

Now, I need to go now!

I have to film!

Location Release For Prince Regent Station

We are allowed to film at Prince Regent Station with our own cameras if it is not for commercial use  but we are not allowed to use a tripod for safety reasons.

Filming - Day 1

Prince Regent Station

London will be chilly in the evening, bring your sweaters and jumpers
gloves, hats, scarf, socks, get rid of the sandles, flip flops and flats!

We were filming the dancers on a tranquille path. To have a practice run on their choreography.

Complications during filming
When we were at Prince Regent Station we were not allowed to film, we had to film near the station.
It was problematic to film from 4:30 pm because this is the time that it began to get dark. Also the weather was extremely cold, so we had to give the dancers their coats to keep warm. While filming there were people walking on this path who were in our frame, so Elma went to the far background in the frame and kindly asked them to walk on their far right. In addition we had problems with the tripod, we wanted to do a smooth tilt without cutting out the the dancer in the frame but we did not know that we could extend the tripod. We asked the technician when we got back to college, it solved the problem.
